After attending numerous City Council and committee meetings over the past year, I see how important it is for the Council to operate with the transparency and respect residents deserve.
I pledge to respect City residents, City taxpayer dollars, City staff, and fellow Council members.
I will work diligently to identify solutions to the City’s challenges and collaborate with other Council members and City staff to see them implemented.

Derek Thomas: Your voice on City Council
Derek is LISTENING TO CITY RESIDENTS NOW – through surveys and conversations door-to-door.
Derek WILL CONTINUE TO LISTEN once elected with regular town hall meetings, Facebook surveys and welcoming resident input in person or via email comments. He’ll work to ensure that ALL City Council committee meetings are recorded to allow residents to follow City Council business. He’ll also work with city staff to ensure information for residents is easily accessible.
